Why Your Fascias and Soffits Start Looking Dirty

A lot of people notice the black or green staining on the front of their house and assume something is wrong.

Most of the time, it is just a build up of dirt, algae, and moisture over time.

Fascias and soffits sit right at roof level, so they take the full hit from the weather. Rain, wind, and dirt all collect there, and because they are not something people clean regularly, it builds up slowly.

If gutters are blocked or overflowing, it can make things worse. Water running over the edge carries dirt down with it, which leaves staining behind.

It does not usually mean they need replaced. In most cases, they just need a proper clean.

Once they are cleaned, it can make a big difference to how the whole property looks. It is one of those jobs people put off, but notice straight away once it is done.
